Our team treats children who are admitted to the hospital after an emergency room visit, after a planned surgery, through medical evaluation or directly from a doctor’s office. A pediatric hospitalist manages your child’s treatment while here. The hospitalist (a doctor who cares for hospitalized patients) communicates and works with your child’s surgeon or specialty pediatrician to ensure comprehensive, efficient treatment. In addition to these services, the Pediatric Center at the Children’s Hospital at Providence is the only facility in Alaska that treats pediatric oncology patients.
