When we first moved to Waterloo I was happy that we had a grocery store around the corner from our house. It's open 24 hours so that's a plus.
I've never been a big fan of buying meat (I don't even eat it) but the steaks were on sale so I treated my husband to one.
He bbq'ed it and said it was tasty up until he started choking a little bit and spit something across the room. Took us a while to find out what it was (it was plastic).
I was grossed out, he was grossed out. I saved the little piece and brought it to the meat counter at the store. They had no idea what it was but told me the company who they got the steaks from.
This was 7 months ago and we STILL Haven't heard back from Sobeys or the Meat Company on what this was.
What if he would have choked to death on it? I'm pretty sure plastic isn't supposed to be in steak.
I do not shop at any Sobey's nor do I buy Steak from any super market.
I'm more upset with the fact that nobody seems to want to fess up to the problem and we are being shoved aside. I could have hired a lawyer and been really nasty about it but I didn't even complain to anyone but the meat manager.
I still have the piece of plastic however with the date and time it happened.
I do not recommend this Sobeys for your meat purchases.

Very sorry to hear this happened to your husband & thankfully, he didn't choke. My mother was in a restaurant a little while ago & there was a very long clear piece of plastic, found in her salad. She did choke on it but thankfully, she was okay! This goes to show you that they must be more careful when it comes to preparing food products for sale in grocery stores & restaurants.

I was grossed out just reading your review. I would not shop there again either. I'm glad it has never happened to me.
