He is originally from Laurens, SC and received his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed his residency at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas and was on the faculty of the Valley Baptist Family Practice Residency Program for twelve years. He returned to the Upstate in 2017 to start the Prisma Health Greer Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Patterson enjoys caring for patients of all ages in both the office and hospital setting. His interest are in community medicine, preventative health, chronic disease management, geriatric medicine, and quality improvement. He has a passion for teaching medical students and residents.
