I was in the Gulfport, AL store on 4/17/25 and the experience was not very pleasant, mainly because of the employees because the customers were all very nice and friendly. I was in town celebrating my birthday and decided to stop in to pick up a few things for my mom and I. I was not greeted upon entry like the other guests and when I was checking out, I had the not so pleasurable experience of dealing with the older black lady wearing glasses. It took her about 5 to 8 mins to check me out, as she was very meticulous in folding my clothing and making sure the costume jewelry I bought was wrapped, so it wouldn't get damaged. I did appreciate that but she never said a word to me, other than how do you want your receipt, emailed or printed. She never asked if I found everything ok, how was my day going, nothing. As a matter of fact, another patron walked up to cash out as she was processing me (very slowly) and looked kind of baffled at all the silence. I eventually walked off and continued to look at jewelry in and and around the cash register as the silence was awkward. I was going to try to strike up a convo, but it was obvious she didn't want to talk or at least not to me. In addition, since, myself and other patrons are the reasons they have jobs, one would think they would want all to feel welcome. Also, as I was leaving, the younger white lady (40-50 age range or so she looked), was hanging clothes. I walked right past her, expecting a "have a nice day", "thanks for shopping with us", but got nothing..dead silence. I won't let this ruin my perception of the city, as all the employees in Coach, RL, Nautica, Lee Wrangler, Casual Male, Lids and most of the employees at Bath and Body Works, at the Gulfport Premium Outlets down the street were real customer oriented; very pleasant and helptul. I will be back, but not to patronize Cato Fashions, just the Outlets.

Service was good and very courteous but I was disappointed. They had sold out of everything I went in to buy, which was good for them I guess. But after that they didn't have anything else in the store I wanted. I needed it in Ladies sizes and they only had it in plus size. A week before that they had it in Ladies sizes but I didn't have the money.

They have a great selection and a nice clearance section. The shoe selection is also pretty big and the staff was nice
