Ridiculous: There email communication is not possible between client and the agent. The company does not have a local business email system. Making contact for anything requires a phone call then a transfer. For making an appointment it’s a huge waste of time. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The local agent was fine.

Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience. I filed my taxes with Jackson Hewitt for the 2023 tax year, and was told everything was complete - no further action needed on my part. Months later, I discovered my return had been rejected by the IRS and never properly filed.

When I confronted them, they tried to shift the blame to me and say it was my fault, claiming they called me but that I didn’t respond. That’s simply not true. I pulled my T-Mobile call records and confirmed they never contacted me by phone, voicemail, or email. I had to discover the issue myself, months later, and only then did they acknowledge the return wasn’t filed correctly.

They re-filed my taxes but said I might have late fees/penalties. They refused to take responsibility or guarantee they’d cover any penalties or interest caused by even though it was caused by their own failure.

From there, I was bounced around with no accountability:
• The local office said they’d speak with the district manager.
• Then I was told to contact customer care.
• Customer care said they couldn’t help because it’s a franchise location.
• When I called the local office again, they said customer care was wrong and that it was their responsibility.

Furthermore, I almost got double charged for taxes because I had paid online (which is what they told me to do), and they almost charged my card on file too - thank god I checked.

I’m now exploring formal complaints with the IRS (Form 14157), the Washington State Attorney General’s Office, and the Better Business Bureau. This isn’t just poor service - it’s dishonest and negligent.

Avoid Jackson Hewitt all costs. If something goes wrong, they will try to blame you, pass you between departments, and leave you with the consequences.

I had a great experience with Jackson Hewitt and Rosary. They were very thorough in tax filing and did due diligence on all the documents. Additionally, on providing the promotional codes for tax prep fees they promised to honor the code and make adjustments to the filing fees.

Location was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Jesus was very accommodating with my and my husband's work schedule. We were able to set up an appointment that was convenient for us. Jesus was friendly, fast, precise, and efficient in doing our taxes. We highly recommend Jesus and we will definitely return for future tax seasons!
