Same here went to 2 other places in Ottawa and could not get any help of value.
Both other places seemed to be a little snobby about the hobby and talked down to me.

The guy at Dynamic Hobbies was pleasant and inelegant and get me going.

I went to Dynamic Hobbies for the first time not long ago. The staff answered all my questions and they really made me feel wanted. I went to another store in the East end of Ottawa which I will not go back due to the service.

I ended up buying an r/c airplane and the best part is the price was lower than I found online.

If you are interested in remote control items then this is the place to go in Ottawa.
