Well where to begin. Emergency dept. Most of the nurses, have no empathy. They run around in front of patients asking one another to fill in for them when they go on break. I heard this with my own ears. Hey, Julie (not real name) will you take care of my patient in 3, she's the old lady with the drip. Reply, okay then, is it gravity or what? Now the wait does not bother me, that is the least of your worries in this hospital. Please people do not use this hopital if you care about yourself or the person who is sick. Now, after saying all this about the Emerg, I have to say it isn't as bad as being actually admitted to the hospital. Once you are in the belly of the beast, that's where things get very bad. I believe most of the nursing staff have had no further education since they got the job in the 1970's. What they don't know could fill a book. When my father went into this hopital with heart attack, they had him tied down seemingly because he fell once standing on his feet. They took his dentures away and placed them on a window ledge. When I went to see him one morning the head nurse of that floor told me "if youre dad doesn't eat soon were going to give him a feeding tube". Oh really I said. Yes they brought out last nights dinner untouched, and this mornings breakfast too. And with the most sullen expression I have ever seen she said "So I am just lettin' ya know". I thanked her and walked into my dads room, worried. He was lying on his back, arms restrained by his side (for his own safety) and his dentures about 4ft. away on the window ledge. Could you eat under these conditions. Of course the nurse got the results she wanted, I went there and sat with him through each meal to make sure he got fed. So good luck folks I hope you don't have to use this place but if you do make sure you stay and speak for the ones you love.
