He is board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology. During his residency, Dr Gallousis was awarded the James Prochaska, MD Memorial Award for the most outstanding second-year resident. Additionally, he received the AAGL award for special excellence in laparoscopic surgery and presented prize papers at The New York Obstetrical Society and Brooklyn Gynecoloical Society meetings. He is interested in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and was one of the first surgeons in Connecticut trained in robotic surgery. Dr. Gallousis was previously a clinical instructor at Mount Sinai Hospital where he trained residents and medical students in both obstetrics and gynecology. He enjoys teaching residents at Stamford Hospital and medical students from the Columbia School of Medicine. He was awarded The National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Educationin 2005.
