Our experience has always been the food in Pollo loco is consistent and very good, it's fresh and made to your order. I cannot remember ever experiencing unfriendly staff at Pollo loco and the atmosphere can vary from a very old store that's clean but not fresh and when compared to a new installation or a new remodel it could be looking a bit worn, but it tells you that many many people have visited that Pollo loco!
It's always good; have some Pollo loco!

I ordered my regular favorite double tosta chicken salad plus a taco al carbon through delivery.
The tostada had mediocre filling and hardly any chicken. The taco had cilantro and onion so apparently the chicken flew away. I did not get a refund and tbe store location denied they prepared it but my receipt verified it. If you want a good meal try the other two locations in Palm Desert or Cathedral City.
It left me not wanting to order from there for awhile.

Drove thru on Thursday night 4/2/26 at 830p (closes at 930) there was a different woman (longer hair) than the usual very nice woman. Ordered a tostada salad, got to our motel and realized she did not put any creamy cilantro dressing with it, ruined the whole salad, and only after driving away did I realize she did not ask or offer any salsas to go with our meal. Also ordered the nachos and maybe they were out of guacamole, there was just a slice of avocado on it. We didn’t have much money for dinner so this was very disappointing since we usually enjoy their food.

In Cathedral City this location is okey.By far not the best but will prevent you from starving.

I ordered a stuffed avocado quesadilla & got everything but the avocado (less than a quarter slice of an entire avocado was in the quesadilla) However the quesadilla was exceptionally good without the avocado (Didn't need it at all) was great as is.

Chicken bowl was good, bean , rice were nice and hott, sour cream is a nice touch the the bowl itself, it's never a miss with this chicken bowl.

I highly recommend the horchata drink.It Is exceptionally good & tasty, it seems like it's a quality product TBH. I realized it's my personal favorite yesterday instead of soda. It just has plenty of sugar. Make sure to try it (milk, cinnamon & sugar) similar taste to rice water.

This was my first time here. I'm from Canada, so I'm not familiar with the menu or the hours. I came to this location last night to try their chicken at 9:15 pm. The drive-through clerk explained that in order to have chicken, I would have to arrive by 8, 8:30pm because they start cleaning the grills at that point.

My first thought was, (as a business owner myself), to pay the staff for an extra hour and start the cleaning after closing, not before. This was disappointing. He then suggested I try a burrito, so I did. I ordered the avocado chicken burrito, with a side of mashed potatoes. I also asked for salsa, and he recommended 4, as they were quite small, and I'm so glad he did. 4 was perfect. If I had only 1, I would have been pouting.

The burrito was delicious. I asked for extra cilantro and really pleased with the flavor. I don't eat the shells, but the contents were yum,yum. The potatoes and gravy are OK, obviously instant, so low expectations.

Today, I went back, 6:10 pm. I ordered a 4 piece meal, dark meat, 2 drums, and 2 thighs. My sides are corn and the Mac n cheese. I also asked for Pico, and they graciously gave me 4, as one of the staff made a joke to give me 1. (I think he was kidding)

The staff were great. Friendly, helpful, and right on point. I enjoyed the ordering process on both visits, last night and today, A+ for customer service.

The food? 👎Bad news, the chicken I was given was overdone. The skin was like paper, and the meat was dry. It's really too bad, I was hoping for good things after the burrito. The corn is tasty, plump, and juicy. The Mac n cheese, however, had been sitting in sauce to the point that the noodles are mush and the sauce has a powder undertone.

Coming right at dinner hour, I shouldn't be getting dry meat. If it wasn't for the great service, this visit would've been a total bummer. Thank you to the vibe clerks. You made a difference, your smiles, attentive and friendly, all 5 stars! 👍
