Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, she served as a dietitian for two years in an acute care setting at HSHS St. John's Hospital."Despite initially going to college for psychology, I became interested in nutrition and its impact on one's health," says Shannon. "I switched my degree to nutrition but also feel that my psychology education is a useful tool to help patients discuss nutrition habits and relationships with food."Previously working in a hospital setting, Shannon felt that she wanted to start providing continuous care to patients she would see regularly."I am most passionate about helping people develop a healthier relationship with food and providing them education to understand how their choices can affect their overall health," says Shannon. "I love helping clear up uncertainties and empowering patients by giving them the resources, education and support they need to achieve their goals."In her free time, Shannon enjoys painting, crafting, hiking and watching live music.
