Our service with Summit started well, but the billing issue ultimately led us to cancel our contract.

During our second inspection, we were red-tagged due to a faulty keypad. We understood the issue and were initially quoted multiple hours of labor to allow for possible wiring problems. I rejected that quote and spoke directly with a manager, who agreed we would only be billed for the actual time the technician worked.

When the technician arrived, he sat in the parking lot for about 15 minutes before coming in, completed the repair in roughly 30 minutes, returned to his truck for another 10 minutes, and left. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and the keypad issue was resolved quickly.

We later received a bill for 4 hours of labor plus parts. When I questioned it, I was told the charges included 2 hours of drive time, 1 hour of repair, and 1 hour to research and order the part—despite the prior agreement. I repeatedly referenced that agreement and stated that 2 hours of labor would be fair, but management refused to adjust the bill. Our original contact never responded.

We paid the invoice to avoid further issues, but cancelled our contract due to the lack of follow-through on what was agreed upon. Disappointing experience, especially given how well it started.

Worst example of professionalism and representation of a business ever. Legally merged into a lane at WB IH-20 to NB 287 in the right lane where 2 lanes merge into one and no markings present on the lanes. Summit driver behind me honked, pulled up next to my vehicle and began to berate me, yell and flip the finger to me, my wife and 1.5yr old son in the car. I pay it no mind, driver pulls BACK up to my window again and continued to berate and yell until he speeds off and begins to tailgate another motorist and make a series of lane changes.

I looked on the website and there was not a working number nor an email to let the company know that they have an extremely dangerous and reckless employee on the road. Th person driving this pickup almost ran me off the road and caused an accident. I hope the company sees this because their employee is going to kill someone.

My SINGE fire extinguisher was out of date, so I had my office manager find a company to bring it to date. She had Summit Fire and Security come out. They knew that our office is in Azle and did not mention that any addition distance fee would apply. No estimate was asked for nor given (our mistake for not asking). Our old one had only been taken out of the box and hung on the wall for three years, so it looked brand new, except for the date. Summit Fire and Security comes out and swaps out our old fire extinguisher with this old beat up Kidde Pro 5TCM-8. Date on the bottom is from 2015. A brand new, exact replace from Amazon is $53.13.

So now I’d like you to guess how much they charged me.

Fire Extinguisher Annual Inspection $85.00

5 LB Dry Chemical extinguisher 6-Yr maintenance $24.50

Truck Charge $75.00

+tax total is 199.72.

Now I agree that we should have asked for an estimate, but 4 times the cost of a BRAND new exact replacement Kidde fire extinguisher. That in my opinion is gouging. I think I’m in the wrong business if this a normal operating procedure.

I did call the Summit Fire and Security and talked to Heather about the fees. At first she said they could take the truck charge off. I did not agree with that. Then she talked to the manager, and he said could take off the Annual Inspection, but leave the truck charges, but that still left the invoice at over $100 (after tax). I still did not agree. I will be paying the full $192.72 and wish Summit Fire and Security the best of luck.

I gave Heather an ear full, but she remained professional and courteous at all times. I would give her a 5 star rating, just for putting up with me. But as a whole 0 star would be better.
