They never answer their phone or emails. They will take your complaint and say they will call you back but they won’t. They will lose your paperwork, preventing you from entering greener homes rebate, and you’re interest-free loan no longer interest free. Due to their negligence, I was paying $183 interest on a $200 a month loan.Unless you want your windows to look like mine, and have them accuse you of causing the damage by slamming them down, Then I strongly suggest you look somewhere else. I will be pursuing this matter to court. I have had multiple people contact me to tell me that There is no way that damage would’ve been caused by slamming the window down or having something heavy on ledge as they claim. These windows are brand new. There’s no need to slam them and I can assure you this is just their way of trying to dodged their poor workmanship. Even tried saying because I changed the screen to a cat screen that could also be an issue. I have had three other contractors come in and confirm that this is negligence on the companies end and I will be pursuing in court. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this company what I have experienced has been nothing but pain and suffering.

Our experience with Custom Contracting has been extremely disappointing.
We initially contacted the company to assess a leaking roofing issue at our home. After their inspection, we were advised that a partial roof repair would resolve the problem, and we relied on that professional recommendation. However, we later discovered that the underlying cause of the issue had not been properly identified during the initial assessment. Had the root problem been accurately diagnosed from the beginning, we would not have proceeded with the proposed repair or entered into the contract.
After signing the agreement and paying a deposit, we informed the company shortly afterward that we needed to cancel the project before any work had begun.
At the time of cancellation:
• No work had been performed
• No materials had been ordered
• No permits had been pulled
Over the following weeks we contacted the company multiple times requesting confirmation of cancellation and asked for an itemized breakdown of any actual costs incurred so the situation could be resolved fairly.
Unfortunately, our correspondence went largely unanswered and ignored. The only response we received from the contractor who did the assessment was that the project could only proceed in full and that cancellation was not an option.
Despite repeated attempts to communicate via telephone and email and resolve the matter amicably, the company has not provided any answers or documentation showing that materials were ordered or that costs were incurred.
We are very disappointed with both the initial assessment and the lack of follow-up communication. As homeowners, we expected a more professional and transparent approach.
Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company and strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to carefully review their contract terms and ensure the scope of work has been fully and accurately assessed before paying any deposit!

Its now April 2026:
The company’s responses on Google do not reflect our experience. Despite being told that their customer care team would contact us to resolve the issue and discuss refunding any unearned deposit, we have not been contacted to date.

Update:
After getting absolutely no where over the phone, I chose to drive to their Brantford location hoping to speak to someone in person.
The staff was very apologetic and prioritized contacting the owner immediately.
He too was very apologetic. I was given the full reimbursement as well as a sum to compensate for the inconvenience.

I strongly advise AGAINST using Custom Contracting. While the tradespeople on-site were competent, the sales, management, and administrative experience has been nothing short of horrific.
Financial Issues: As per our agreement, I am owed a $450 reimbursement for a post-audit. I have been following up several times a week for over a month and am met with nothing but empty promises. At this point, I can only describe their retention of my $450 reimbursement as a blatant theft of funds. After a month of ignored follow-ups, it’s clear they have no integrity. Taking a client's money through broken promises is a disgraceful way to run a business.
Rebate Warning: Do not trust any advice or "guarantees" provided by their salespeople regarding Greener Homes rebates and grants. They are either ill-informed or intentionally misleading; they clearly do not understand the eligibility requirements and will over-promise just to close the sale.
Staff Instability: We cycled through four different sales and admin representatives who were all terminated during our project, leading to a total lack of accountability.

My boyfriend, Eugene, called Custom Contracting for a quote for windows.
James came over within a couple of days & assessed the job.
Also for insulation.
They did the job in 8 weeks.
Whenever Eugene contacted them by phone they addressed the concerns politely and professionally.
The workers were happy, singing & whistling during the job. It took a couple of days to do the project. They did a fantastic job especially the basement windows.
A few minor details were completed a few days afterwards.
I would recommend them to anyone.
Paige, Keith, Mark, and Sharon are always easy to talk to.
Thank you very much Custom Contracting. You did a fantastic job.

We had our roof redone by Custom Contracting. We have an old house (1852) and we wanted to make sure that the look of the shingles we would choose would not detract from the style. We got a lot of help from the team at custom to find the right fit. The installation team did a great job, very professional, protected the surroundings and cleaned up nicely afterwards. We will definitely do more business with them in the future.
