After digesting my thoughts on her for a few months and discussing it with a different therapist and friends, I think my opinion of my experience with her has become so low that I decided to reword my review as a warning. I think my self-esteem at the time that I wrote my original review was too low to really credit the harm that she did and I tried to bear a lot of the blame.I think that she approached my situation with very narcissistic ideals for how she could gain from my situation instead of how I could gain from her help. In our first session, she basically told me that I need to prove that I'm worth her time, which is a great tactic if you want to use people that feel that they're beneath the rest of society. I saw her described as professional and unprofessional in the series of reviews I read before starting work with her. I think she is very professional until you don't give her the exact answer she wants. She got very stuck in her preconceived ideas of the causes of my issues including some events that didn't occur that she tried to convince me did. She got very condescending and gaslighty in the last few sessions I had with her. When I very calmly voiced my concerns without any insult to her, she got pretty angry and cutting me off multiple times towards the end of the session and then dropped me as a patient saying that I'm not ready. I think it is likely she has issues of her own that she needs to work through (we're all human) before she'll be able to work with certain cases effectively. She gets a 2 for not being the worst (The worst therapist I ever saw had no training. This woman is at least educated even though she seems pretty damn immoral and narcissistic). It was pretty clear that her goal was what she could gain from you and not how she could help you.

I spent about a year working through some hard things. Wanting to quit, not liking the approach.
I spent years and a lot of money with different therapists who just listened to me talk with no real path to healing.
Carol is there to help you navigate through the trauma. Not talk about the weather.
For the first time ever my anxiety is in check without medication, because I was able to the to the root of why my nervous system wants to do _____. And processed it.
If you want a therapist to nod their head in agreement with something you do or have done she isn’t them.

Carol is wonderful, very professional, has good/clear boundaries, and creates a safe and trusting environment to do some really difficult therapeutic work with. I’ve worked with her for 4+ years and done EMDR, and we have tackled the deepest of my psychological knots. I no longer need to take meds because of the work we’ve done, and I have a handle on my depression and social anxiety.

I’ve always felt comfortable, seen, and understood with her. She is effective, patient, and encourages growth in a way that challenges me but in a very gentle and compassionate way. I haven’t gotten nearly as much progress with any other therapist. She might seem a little intimidating at first but that’s because she’s intelligent and very observant. She has a great sense of humor and knows how to be grounding and doesn’t push me past my comfort level during difficult sessions. Overall, I highly recommend Carol as a therapist.

Good luck trying to get a hold of this therapist. Maybe she's extremely busy. I had a very disappointed experience. Might want to try to find somebody else. I will not recommend her to anybody
