Born in Quitman, Larry resided there with his parents until the age of 6 at which point his family moved to Brunswick. At the age of 12, he began a lifelong interest in electricity, which culminated with his gaining his licensing as a Master Electrician at the age of 18. As time progressed while working for Thompson Electric, Larry began to entertain a more than passing interest in fire alarm installations and the interest of other life safety systems, that could aid in the safety of others.
