He worked as a research technician in a virology lab for two years before going to the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario to take up studies leading to his DDS degree. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association and Alberta Dental Association and College. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Implants (ICOI). Dr. Chao obtained his mastership in ICOI in 2016. In his spare time, he volunteers at the Alex bus in the Alex health community to help the needy children of the area receive much needed dental care.
