I have known Hanna for over 20 years and it seems that when ever I need an alteration, she is right there to help!!! I cannot sew (only buttons) but that has never been an issue because I ALWAYS take my hemming, alterations, patch jobs (boys clothing!) to her. She greets you with a smile and always has time to ask how you are doing and what is new. She makes you feel like you are one of the family! I would certainly recommend her to anyone reading this review and I have recommended her to my friends!

I had recently taken my wedding dress to Hannah's for altering, my dress needed to be taken in, while it did turn out beautiful, the ladies did a great job, the experience wasn't all fantastic. As the same as others have said yes all your info is done on post it notes, and yea the shop is not the cleanest. Also we had agreed on a day I would pick it up , well the ladies got behind and so I went to pick up my dress and it hadn't even been started. I would have appreciated a call because I do not live in Calgary and to pack up an infant and get there jus to turn around without an apology was very frustrating and a waste of a day. That being said I was very happy with my dress, but no I don't think I will go back.

We went to Hanna's for some alterations to my grad dress. This was our first time to Hanna's and as soon as I tried it on, she had some great suggestions that we hadn't even thought about. We picked up the dress last night. It was ready as promised. Tried it on and it looked great. Will definitely be going back the next time something isn't quite fitting right!!

I had my wedding dress altered through Hanna's design and alterations. I had bought my dress through a consignment place in July and by January when I tried it on again I had lost some weight and needed the dress taken in quite a lot. On top of the size alterations I requested a major alteration to the top of the dress.
The 2 ladies here did a fantastic job changing what I needed changed. It was a very tedious and lengthy process but they were fun to work with and everything was ready on time.
I know I was nervous to leave my wedding dress in someone else's hands, however these 2 ladies pulled through and made my dress phenomenal.

Pricing here is fair, and they seem fairly organized. The only concerns are that everything is done on post-it notes (what alterations you need, pricing, name, etc). The shop is a little dirty and dated with only 1 small dressing room.

I was having a zipper repaired on a winter jacket and after I picked it up the zipper broke again in the same place. The issue was I had to return to that shop 3 times but each time it was posted open at 10 am and no one was there.

I ordered a bridesmaid dress for my daughter which arrived in the wrong color. Hanna was able to duplicate the dress perfectly (in the right color). She designed the pattern herself and the dress fit perfectly. Hanna was super fun and a joy to work with. Couldn't say enough good things about this lady!! Jean W.

I have been a client of Hanna's since we moved to Calgary in 2002. Being "vertically challenged" most of the clothing I buy requires some alteration, and I can always count on Hanna to insure my clothes fit properly!

Hanna recently altered a dress passed down to me from my boyfriend's Grandmother. It was a dress she had bought as a young girl, and it was very important for me to have it altered by someone I could trust. Hanna was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to say - she did an excellent job. It was an expensive alteration, but you do need to pay for quality. I could tell she put in a lot of work. She even kept the extra fabric for me, and altered it in such a way that it could be taken out if I gain some weight in the future. Hanna is great, she listens, she finished by dress by the time I needed it, and she has great integrity in her work.

Hanna saved me after I ordered a disaster of a wedding dress online. The dress I received from an online site was poorly measured and cheaply made. Hanna took my awful dress and turned it into the dress of my dreams! She took the original dress apart and reconstructed it into a beautiful, unique gown. My dress was not exactly traditional but Hanna worked with me every step of the way to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. She has a real eye for fashion and gives great advice and insight. My dress fit perfectly after Hanna measured me and remade the dress. I got so many compliments on my beautiful dress and it is all thanks to Hanna! Her pricing is extremely fair, considering the amount of work and passion she puts into each job. I highly recommend her for small or large design/alteration jobs! I will be visiting Hanna again very soon!

I live in the NE and make the drive down to Hanna's everytime I need alterations done. She took in a bridesmaid's dress for me in early '08 and I was so impressed I took my wedding dress to her in Fall 2008. It had been ordered approx. 5 inches too short and she took out the hem to make it a little longer. Since then I've taken business skirts, pants, and blouses to her. Unlike my previous tailor, she's always had my clothing ready for pick up as promised.

She does good work on alterations, etc., but don't count on her listed hours to actually be her hours. I had pants in there for hemming and was going to pick them up when she opened at 10am (I was leaving for a 3 week holiday that same day). Got to her store and there was a sign on the door stating that she would be back by 2pm instead. Not something I was expecting to see. I will definitely choose a more reliable tailor next time.
