My name is Edson Rocha and I’m a Certified USA Boxing Coach with almost three decades of experience. I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Annapolis, MD in 2017 when my American wife transferred to work in DC. In Brazil I practiced different types of sports since I was a child. At the age of 7 I had my first contact with judo and swimming. In high school, I excelled at basketball and rugby. I also practiced skydiving, trained muay-thai, jiu-jitsu and of course boxing. Having trained at several gyms I was able to see the birth of MMA as a sport up close. At that time this modality was known simply as Vale-Tudo (literally translated from Portuguese as “anything goes”). But boxing has always been a passion for me and my favorite martial art. Read more
