However, an experience in medical school changed his life. “I saw a photograph of a child with cleft lip and palate – before and after surgery. It captured my imagination,” Dr. Muzaffar said. “The more I learned about plastic and reconstructive surgery the more I found it interested, excited and stimulated me.” Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Muzaffar performs the cosmetic procedures most patients expect of a plastic surgeon and other surgeries people might not expect, including Pediatric Plastic surgery, Craniofacial surgery, Cleft lip/palate surgery, Pediatric/congenital hand surgery, Facial aesthetic surgery, Rhinoplasty, Breast/body contouring surgery, Hand surgery, Vascular lesions/birth marks One of Dr. Muzaffar’s most memorable cases involved a patient with Craniosynostosis. “All of the bones of his skull had fused together, contributing to extensive deformity and to pressure on his brain,” Dr. Muzaffar said. “His mother told me because of the surgery he was able to speak his first words in the recovery room. He was two years old. That stays with me.” In addition to sports and surgery, Dr. Muzaffar loves music, particularly the trumpet. “I started playing in 5th grade after seeing and hearing the middle school concert band play a Christmas concert.
