I was at Mavericks just last weekend. And i dont the food changed for the better. The new menu that the new owners put into affect isnt as good as the old menu. Just thought i'd share.

The new owners are very nice and always get to know their customers! That's what counts. I have known the owners even before they bought the place. The menu will be changing from what I heard. Mavericks is a friendly place to visit.

great place to have drink, maybe some wings. they have a combo of old and young working the place. i have to go back as i heard one of the staff is going to be the new owner. it was like cheers, every time a regular walk in the place, but no Norms that i know about.
so next time i walk by looking for a drink i am going to give this place a chance.

i like it. It seemed to be like a hidden gem. while i was there, i played on the game machine at the bar. I heard the bartender acknowledge each person by name,I like that person feeling there. The TVs were good sized HD. The selection in beer was ok to.

I went to Mavericks recently for the first time after hearing that it was recently taken over and now its kind of family run with the exception of a couple employees. I loved it, the food is great, the wings taste fresh and are not those tiny lil' ones. My girlfriend ordered the pizza and it tasted like none before. The place is clean, and the service is good too. I would highly recommend this place, obviously not as a first date place, but def. a place to hang out.

Probably the best thing about Mavericks is the eclectic collection of offbeat regulars. They're all friendly and ready to engage in conversation.
It's one of the only places in the city to have Hacker-Pschorr on tap. They have Setanta Sports and generally have a soccer game on.
As the description says, the food is simple but good.
