I am very disappointed with the service from Sear Goldsmith. My wedding set broke, it has been repaired several times, and so this time instead of having it fixed again, we decided to buy a new set.
I found an estate set at Sears Goldsmith it was exactly what I was looking for and even at the right price. Before buying it I asked what the warranty cover as it came with a 4 year warranty. I asked if it covered the claws if they needed to be fixed. It was covered.
So after thinking about it I put it on lay away, I loved the set so much I went back a few days after paid it in full.
This was purchased on May 5th, 2014.
It had to be sized therefore I didn't rec'd it till May 9th, 2014.
Last week the ring pulled a thread out of my sweater therefore I took it to Sears Goldsmith to have it checked. I was told that one of the claws on the engagement ring was a bit lifted.
The sales lady proceeded to check the wedding band; she told me that all of the claws on the wedding band looked worn down and all had to be replaced. When I mentioned to her that it was purchased just about a month ago, her story changed that the wedding band was fine. However I should get the Engagement ring fixed.
I said well the Warranty will cover that, her reply was no all the warranty is good for is for Manufacture defect.
This is not what I was told when I purchased the wedding set.
So I proceeded to another jeweler who I have been dealing with for years as I didn't trust the sales lady after telling me the whole wedding band had to be fixed.
The wedding set was checked over by two professional jewelers, the wedding band is perfectly fine and the engagement does have one claw that is slightly open. Which will have to be fixed.

I am very disappointed with the service from Sears Goldsmith as I feel that I have been lied to from the beginning.
If I would have known that the warranty only covered the manufacture defect I probably would not have brought the wedding set.
Now I am wondering if the diamonds are .35.

I have completely lost my faith in the customer service at Sears GoldSmith and will not be making any future purchases there. I also have friends and family who are aware of my experience and have stated the same thing.

My husband has purchased many fine, quality pieces at Sears Goldsmith Studio for me. My husband and I are both extremely impressed with Gary's knowledge. We also appreciate his guidance and the fact that he takes the time to educate the consumer. His approach and professionalism is a true testament to the reason why his store is superior! If you are considering investing in quality pieces, this is your one stop shop!

Took my watch in for a repair, was originally quoted with a small $15 fee to replace the pin, but was cautioned it could go as high as $25 once they took a closer look at it. A few weeks later and still no watch they called me to tell me it's going to be $50! They really like pulling a fast one on you, the girl on the phone herself compared it to a repair shop where you get quoted one price and then it's actually higher.

Now I either have to have it fixed for their crazy fee or wait another week trying to get it back and take it somewhere else.

Don't go here for watch repairs.

Hello, We have one of the largest volume repair and custom shops in Atlantic Canada. We specialize in high-end custom work and fine quality repairs. Some products that we receive in the shop are not made very well to begin with. We are only as good as the products we get to work on. Some products are defective and we dont know this untill the repair process is started. Manfucaturers defects are very common in this industry and I am sure that your ring may of had a defect befor you brought it into our store. We can help you work with the manufacturer to help fix your ring. A letter from a jeweler to the vendor can help this process. If you please e-mail me your name and information I will be able to further look into this matter for you and help you resolve this problem. gspicer@goldsmithstudio.ca Gary Spicer, President of Goldsmith Studio

While you boast about your largest and best jewelry repair business, you should take the time to learn some basic grammar for credibility. Lesson 1: process has started instead of process is started. Lesson 2: may have had; not may of had. That read like fingernails down a chalkboard!
