Do not use this company and do NOT mistake this for Rotorooter.
The sewer backed up and I called a plumber for repairs. BIG mistake to have called this company. A proper diagnosis was not done and after replacing about 3 ft of drain pipe and 5 1/2 hours of being onsite they provided an invoice of close to $4k. A line item for 6 hours labour was included on the invoice even though they told me they charge by the task not the hour. After multiple emails, the line item was changed to working in a crawl space ($900). Total invoice still near $4k AND the Problem was not fixed. After calling another plumber and the city, the issue was determined to be with the city line. Due to the improper diagnostic methodology, price gouging and situation opportunism, they get 0 rating. However in order to post this at least one star needed to be selected.

Way too expensive and rip off beware, I thought I called Roto-rooter but they came worked for 20min and charge me $617 (cut exposed copper pipe 18" length in garage, replaced with pex). He got signature from me on tablet for work order but got charged on credit card right away.

PLEASE READ TO THE END.
I called Mr. Rooter in Nanaimo to fix a small fresh water leak in my crawlspace. The job took less than 1 hour. Mr. Router charged me $557.00 to do the job including a small plastic pipe. That was confirmed by Mark V . the plumber. He charged me an extra $163.33 to go into the crawlspace. The whole job took less than 1 hour. My total bill was $756.35 to replace a small piece of plastic pipe in my crawlspace.
THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you call this company, they will tell you that they charge a $79.00 dispatch fee and ask for your credit card number. They will not send anyone out unless you give it to them. If you do, they have your number and can charge you anything they want. At the end of the job, the plumber will make you sign a BLANK TABLET and will tell you that they will send you an invoice the next day. You will be surprised. Your invoice will also show that there is NO WARRANTY in the fine print. Mr Rooter does not charge for time and materials used. This is an email they sent me explaining how they charge a job. This is a direct quote from an email Erin Briscoe, the office manager sent me. "Mr Rooter uses a national subscription to a menu pricing system for our rates. Inputting a Living Wage, Insurance, WCB, trucks, fuel, office expenses etc., The computer then takes all this information and sets the price for that job. WE HAVE NO RETAIL BREAKDOWN FOR THE INDIVIDUAL MATERIAL ITEMS USED OR THE PRICE FOR AN HOUR OF LABOUR".
THAT IS WHY I WAS CHARGED UPWARD OF $700.00 TO REPAIR A SMALL WATER LEAK WHICH TOOK ABOUT 1/2 HOUR.
PLEASE GO TO YOUTUBE AND TYPE IN Mr. Rooter Nanaimo Plumbing Complaints and look at Mr. Rooter Reviews - STAY Away From Mr. Rooter.
DO NOT GIVE THEM YOU CREDIT CARD NUMBER!!!!!!!!
As an aside, Mark fixed the leak in less than 1/2 hour. As of now, no leak.

This company is not good! Mark came to my home after an 80 cad charge to estimate with no refund. He said 750 cad to run a snake down my sink drain. This is a 30 min job! I own a hotel and know about how big of a job this is. Unless you are OK with paying 700 cad per hour of work. Do not do business with them!

Mark quickly reviewed the problem with us, investigated and quickly found the issue. Not what we thought. He had the part and installed it in short order. During testing of his repair he found another issue, dating back to initial installation, 27 years ago. His experience enabled him to devise a simple repair.
