Went on a busy Friday night and despite the crazy crowd and cold weather the Pai team made sure we were welcomed in. Shoutout to Tiff for going above and beyond. Foods great, vibes are even better. Makilala & Pai can’t be beat. The Khao Soi was delicious! Will be trying the green curry next time.

Loved one of their fried rice with minced meat ( spicy). The Thai coconut curry was nice as well. All other items were tasty, but wouldn't say I'll visit again for those. The mango sticky rice pudding was disappointing. Might be because I had authentic ones from other countries. It was very, as there was no bowl of extra coconut milk. Rice just felt like a sweet sticky rice. The coconut flavour from this dish was missing.
*** We had to wait 1.5 to 2 hours as we went on a weekend. Was it worth it? Not sure!

*Also the man who served us didnt seemed that service oriented, not sure if it's because of our race/ skin colour. Didnt like his service as well.

With over 14,000 reviews and still able to maintain a 4.6 star review rating? It's got to be good! - Internal monologue as a browsed Google maps on one of my late night hunger swipe marathon.

Walked in at noon and the place was packed with around 10 people ahead of us which was surprising cause Google said it was "less busy than usual", makes you wonder how off the wall bonkers it'll be when it actually gets busy!
For a table for two, we waiting less than 5 minutes which is great. We got a nice corner spot, with a nice small table.
The menu can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the table, but the menu is kind of hard to read (the font and layout is a bit crammed together). We went with the recommended ones from Google reviews as pictured in the receipt photo.
Favourite was the "Pao Gra Prow Moo Grob", with ground pork and pork belly medium spicy. The taste was out of this world, the meat was super flavorful with hints of chili, fish sauce and smokiness on a huge bed of rice.
The thai chicken wing was good along with the "Khao Soi" but they weren't really outstanding.
The least favorite was the "Mango Slaw", which was super sour...way to sour to finish. Even they need to add a bunch more peanuts to balance it out or less vinegar.

All in all it was a great experience, FYI tip prompt starts at 18% coupled with high appertizer price it can be more expensive than expected.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely amazing! The food at PAI was outstanding from start to finish. We ordered the tofu Pad Thai, shrimp fried rice, mango salad, and spring rolls, and every single dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavour.

This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were generous, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. I can see why this place is so popular!

Services could have been better but the food made up for it. It wasn’t just slow but the lady didn’t take instructions well and was not very attentive. I had to ask twice for straws and to have empty plates removed even though she had come to the table twice. We hardly had space to begin with so clearing empty plates should be a priority.

Nonetheless, I’ll definitely be back for more. ❤️😋 Highly recommend to anyone looking for incredible Thai food in Toronto! I’m excited for the Square One location to open since it’s closer to me.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10

The vibe and service here were great. It feels like a cool underground bar and the music was solid.

I ordered the Mussaman Curry with beef and it was okay but not the best. There wasn't enough beef and the flavor was a bit underwhelming for me since I prefer it to be sweeter.

On the other hand, the Mango Sticky Rice was incredible. It was super fresh and one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a 9.5/10 for the dessert.

The bathroom situation was pretty bad. There is no separation between the urinals and it just felt low quality. 4/10 on that front.

I’d come back for the music and the sticky rice, but I’d probably try a different curry next time.
