I’ve visited Sud Forno several times and have always had a pleasant experience. Delicious pizza, pasta, sandwiches, excellent coffee, and tempting pastries! The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with lovely lighting. My only suggestion would be to lower the music a little, especially for those catching up with friends or colleagues. Overall, a great spot in downtown Toronto for a casual meal or coffee break!

This review is for their cafe downstairs. The setting is quite beautiful and I enjoyed the openness of the high ceilings. The cafe was quite busy at 10-11 am and seems to be a popular work spot for many professionals. I ordered a cappuccino and pistachio croissants. Their cappuccino was fairly standard but I really enjoyed their pistachio croissant and the white chocolate drizzle over top.

I’m basing my review on the quality of the food. The salad I got was super lack luster, I asked the server if it was a big salad and she assured me it was. It was not.. I will give points to me asking if I could add salmon to the salad she shared they couldn’t but could add chicken, when I shared it’s ok chicken probably isn’t halal, she did let me know that sometimes their steak is halal and was happy to ask. I didn’t go with steak (wasn’t in the mood) so I went with the salad only.

First photo is what I got ( after one bite) , second photo is what they have on their uber account. Toppings seemed to have forgotten to hit my plate.

Dish: isalata Di Cavolo E Spinach
Description: Baby Kale, baby spinach, caramelized walnuts, roasted squash, pomegranate, Gorgonzola dressing.

Taste: bland, the only thing that tasted good from this dish was the caramelized walnut; all 5 of them.

I stopped by after a busy day, and it met my expectations. I ordered the Casertana pizza; the crust was thin and flavourful, and the ingredients were fresh. The insalata nizzarda was also well prepared, especially with a nicely balanced dressing. For dessert, I had tiramisu and panna cotta; both were light and enjoyable. The order was prepared quickly, and the wait time wasn’t long. The place was busy but well organized. Prices are a bit high, but considering the location, it’s understandable. Overall, I was satisfied. I’d recommend it.

Sud Forno is a wonderful spot!
The café on the first floor is stylish and beautifully designed. The café latte and pastries were both delicious.
Upstairs, the restaurant is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends. We were able to chat comfortably while enjoying authentic Italian food.
Highly recommend for both coffee and a leisurely meal!
