She oversees clinical operations within the division while mentoring faculty in clinical scholarship, research, and career development.Dr. Kashyap is an internationally recognized physician-scientist whose research focuses on precision metabolic medicine, type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) disease, and metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Her work has advanced understanding of the pathophysiology of insulin resistance and the long-term outcomes of both surgical and non-surgical interventions for obesity and diabetes. She has served as principal investigator and co-investigator on numerous NIH-sponsored clinical trials and continues to lead investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies aimed at improving cardiometabolic health.A dedicated educator, Dr. Kashyap is Co-Chair of the Endocrine Society Board Review Course and has completed a five-year term as Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (JCEM).
