I always try to give honest reviews, and this is one of those places where I can see why other people enjoy it, but it just wasnāt quite the right fit for our family.
We had been hearing about Grimaldiās for a long time. We have friends who absolutely love it and visit regularly, and someone had even given us a gift card about a year ago that had been sitting in my purse waiting for the perfect opportunity. When my son wanted pizza for his birthday, we decided it was finally time to give it a try.
Going in, I really wanted to love it. My husband has Italian roots, and Italian food is probably his favorite type of cuisine. We had heard good things about the pizza and had also heard that they sometimes offer kids dough to play with while waiting for their food, which sounded like a fun touch for families.
Overall, the experience was okay. Not bad, but not necessarily memorable for us either. The pizza itself was decent, and my kids seemed to enjoy it more than I did. The Caesar salad was actually one of my favorite parts of the meal and was probably the standout item for me.
We also ordered some appetizers, but unfortunately they just didnāt do much for us. They werenāt terrible, but they werenāt something we would order again.
Since we were there celebrating my sonās birthday, I ordered the dessert trio. I wasnāt expecting anything extravagant, but I was hoping there might be a little birthday acknowledgment or perhaps some of the family-friendly touches we had heard about. That didnāt happen, which was a little disappointing, especially since we had chosen the restaurant in part because of those things.
The service was okay. Nobody was rude, but it wasnāt quite the level of service I typically expect, especially in The Woodlands area where there are so many excellent restaurants that really stand out when it comes to hospitality and guest experience.
One thing I did genuinely appreciate was the complimentary sauce we received to take home. It was actually delicious, and I thought that was a really nice gesture. I will definitely be using it, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our visit.
At the end of the day, I donāt know that we would rush back, but I also wouldnāt completely rule it out. I like giving places a second chance because sometimes an off experience doesnāt tell the whole story. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, or maybe it was just an off night for us.
The location is great, the restaurant is nice, and I can certainly understand why it has a loyal following. It simply didnāt live up to the expectations we had built up over the years. For our family, it was good, but not necessarily somewhere we left excited to return. Still, Iām glad we finally got to try it and form our own opinion.

Hadn't even gotten our food yet, at the time of writing this review. In the short period of time, before receiving our food, I witnessed multiple instances of OUTSTANDING customer service!!! These folks go above and beyond for their customers and highly impressed me. I'm not someone that EVER writes reviews, but this particular Grimaldi's absolutely blew me away, with their attentiveness to their patrons needs! Melody (our waitress) and Xavier were beyond helpful and I can't stress enough how pleasant the experience has been, so far.
100% would not hesitate to come here again, next time we are in The Woodlands!!!

Every time I visit The Woodlands, I always come to this place. The pizza is amazing, the crust is cooked to perfection, and the ingredients are fresh and super flavorful. The place itself is beautiful and perfectly decorated. The only downside is that for the first time it took over 40 minutes to get my pizza (and I was alone). The employee very kindly told me that itās a normal wait time, which I think is a bit much, but beyond that Iāll keep coming back because I love it ā I just canāt help it š

DOOOO NOT go here unless you want to wait 40 min. For a pizza with burnt crust that certainly my kids couldn't eat!!! Then wait another 30 min. For a half RAW one....I love the water way....I love pizza....there are TONS of better and more cost effective places!!!! LIKE CRUST!!!!......I had black soot all over my hands and plate... and spent like 130$$$$.... Waiter was cool....spot was cool....my wife enjoyed her wine....BUT.....PIZZA IS TRASH!!!!! ........BEWARE!!!!!!

Tried their margherita pizza, super tasty with fresh ingredients (was the perfect amount of tomato sauce - which wasnāt too sweet or sour. Also tried their house and apple / walnut salads - also fresh ingredients
We did wait over 1.5+ hour for the pizza in the early afternoon. Grimaldis was on the busier side that day
