I signed up with Arvest when I moved to Bentonville 5 years ago. I wanted to have my money with a local bank with a physical presence. I had no issues up until recently. I just canceled my account because they wanted to add a $5 monthly fee to my checking account. Charging for non-interest bearing checking in this day and age is just ridiculous.
On the upside I opened a new account with Capital One and received a sign up bonus. If Arvest hadn't tried to squeeze me for $5 a month I never would have gone looking for another account and would have missed that sign up bonus.
