Before his tenure at NYPQ, he was at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he served as the Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation and staffed the institution's inpatient rehabilitation unit.Dr. Chowdhury provides a wide array of care to patients with musculoskeletal and neurological issues, including spinal cord and brain injuries, sports injuries, arthritis, stroke, and spasticity. He has a particular focus on cancer patient rehabilitation, utilizing cutting-edge technology such as high-resolution ultrasound for highly targeted treatments.Active in research, Dr. Chowdhury has published in peer-reviewed journals, written textbook chapters, been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences, lectured globally, served as a grant reviewer for the Singapore Ministry of Health, and is a peer reviewer for several leading journals. He has done pro bono medical work, including helping to start a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment clinic in Tanzania. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for Cornell and Columbia medical students and as a mentor for students worldwide, culminating in his award as the inaugural “Michael O’Dell Mentor of the Year.”With a multifactorial approach to patient care, Dr. Chowdhury utilizes traditional therapies such as medications and non-operative procedures. As a certified nutritional therapist, he also incorporates lifestyle modifications, including dietary recommendations, specific exercise regimens, and supplement use.
