Most of the staff are very knowledgeable, but some (including some at the back desk and some in the cabinets area) do not know what they are talking about (and will guess incorrectly rather than admit they do not know). They also have a very rigid return policy - no receipt, no return - even if they stock the item and even for just a store credit. Fortunately, if Home Hardware and Home Depot carry it they will take it if Evans stiffs you. This on top of the chaotic layout and uneven product selection make this a poor choice for anything but lumber. Even then, pick your lumber very carefully as they often forget to cover it and if it is nor warped when you buy it, it will warp afterwards. PineHill is a much better option unless you live downtown near Evans.
