I didn't realise this place had closed for so long and only just reopened. It will be good to see what they do with the big building out the back. Great to see the pineapples growing, the little train ride is worth getting on as it goes through the zoo next door and you can see animals from the train, and it goes around the whole facility. Paying to go in the pineapple is a bit rough though. Really looking forward to seeing the progress in the future.

The Big Pineapple has been an Institution for Many, Many Decades.
Has been bought and sold a few times over the years.
The Promotional Flyers, Promote “Free Entry”
But, the Majority of the buildings are being renovated. So, Not much can be accessed “For Free !”
I did buy a ticket for the Train ride around the Plantation.
That was worth the trip.
The Commentary was very good and informative.
Will return when the Restaurant is back in Business.

A great little holiday stop. Looking forward to going back again when they have refurbished the restaurant and bar. 🍹We took the train ride and enjoyed eating fresh 🍍 🍍 🍍 💛 The new owners have already completed some great renovations. Next time we will also check out the mini zoo. 🦧

We recently visited The Big Pineapple, and honestly, it turned into one of the most memorable experiences of our trip — largely thanks to an incredible young staff member named Christian.
From the moment we arrived, Christian greeted us with genuine enthusiasm and professionalism while helping us with our tickets at the door. What really stood out wasn’t just his friendliness, but his deep knowledge and passion for the place. You could instantly tell this isn’t “just a job” for him — he genuinely cares about the business and takes pride in being part of it.
As we went through the experience, Christian went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything, sharing insights, stories, and little details that you simply wouldn’t get otherwise. He has that rare ability to make you feel welcome, engaged, and excited all at the same time. It honestly felt like we were being shown around by someone who treats the place as if it were his own.
In a world where customer service can often feel rushed or impersonal, Christian is the exact opposite. He is a credit to the business — polite, switched on, passionate, and incredibly personable. If you’re running a business, he is exactly the type of person you want representing your brand.
The Big Pineapple itself is a fantastic attraction, but it’s staff like Christian who elevate the entire experience from good to unforgettable.
We absolutely loved our visit and will 100% be recommending it to others — and we’ll definitely be back.

The Big Pineapple isn't as big as you'd imagine. We got here not long after opening on a Sunday and parking was difficult. The Pineapple has had a paint job fairly recently so it does look pretty good. To climb it you'll have to shell out 12 bucks each these days.
Definitely do the Pineapple train! It's a little part of Queensland history and a lot of fun. Hopefully you get the legendary Jeff drive you and guide your journey.
The main building that has become dilapidated is under renovation so just ignore it for the time being. Cool animals in their little zoo worth a look if you've got any credit left on your card.
Be kind to the bear that comes around to greet the kids.
Don't order a bottle of Pineapple juice from the kiosk, it's gross.
