In 1999, she went to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for her residency in Pediatrics, which she completed in 2002. Dr. Higgins is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the National Medical Association and Texas Pediatric Society. She's also a member of the Houston Medical Forum, Mary Susan Moore Society, Harris County Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
