Went in for a check deposit to cash. Came from my employer. Had my first, last, and middle name on it, printed, not written.

Was denied and told the teller couldn’t really explain why. Really. He said himself that he didn’t understand. But didn’t proffer a solution either. Just, “hey make an account with us, bite the 50$ fee teehee”.

Told him my situation. Bills. Duh. Still no clarification or anything. So I left.

Came back about an hour later, willing to start an account and take the 50$ fee. My goal was to create an account, pay my bills digitally, then close my account. Felt it proved a point.

However, when I returned, the same teller was busy, so I was directed to a different one. A wonderful woman who not only didn’t understand what the hold was on me receiving my money, she ALSO couldn’t explain the hold the previous teller had mentioned. I received my cash and some really nice banter from this teller.

I work in 98+ degree weather for 8-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. A single father. I hate to mention, I’m also of brown complexion and can’t razor shave due to razor bump condition many black men face. I didn’t look professional. But I shouldn’t be treated a certain way considering, I brought identification, proof of residency, voter info, and proof of employment (the same company on the check). I was friendly. Southern manners.

I just wanna know what the hold up was. Why have me submit to fees and surrendering my personal information when I clearly never had to? It wasted about two hours of my evening. Plenty of gas. And time I could’ve spent with my child.

Had to leave business account and personal accounts as Arvest has lost all interest in listening to needs of the customers in interest of offering “wealth management with that kind of a balance.” Two consecutive known issues cause multiple returns to branches: 1- PIN number sometimes works but the phone system says it didn’t, so you have an active card that you think is defunct 2- login with the app won’t work, so go to the browser when the setup fails. Neither were able to be resolved with one visit to the bank 🤦🏽

This bank is absolutely useless because their cards are so cheaply made that no where can read them. I have gone in for 3 cards to be reprinted because you can’t use them at any chip reader anywhere. Even after having them reprinted they still wont work. What is the point of using this bank if I can’t get gas or groceries using a chip reader.

Ridiculous bank and location. Showed up to get a card printed about a month ago and got told they can’t print cards here and to call online.. I called online and long to short they said I needed to go to a branch instead and that they should have printed my card here at this location instead? I requested to speak to a manager ASAP to ask why I’m being treated like a clown and they said they can go ahead with printing online but that printing was available here? Been banking at this place for a decade and this interaction has me super tempted to close out my account. Why do play broken telephone with customers like this????
