I can't recommend Val enough! We have done both private training and, most recently, her group classes with Monty, and the difference in him has been incredible. Looking back at his very first class compared to where he is now, the improvement is amazing.
Val is knowledgeable, patient, and explains everything in a way that's easy to understand and practice at home. Every class is well organized, engaging and after every private class we always leave with homework and clear guidance on what to work on between sessions, which has made such a big difference in Monty's progress.
It's clear that Val genuinely cares about both the dogs and their owners and wants everyone to succeed. If you're looking for a trainer who provides practical, effective training and ongoing support, Monty and I highly recommend her!

I can’t recommend Val enough. Val provided us with a phone consultation to support us with some reactivity issues our pup was having. She was thorough in understanding our family’s situation and prior training experiences and pinpointed some areas where our communication with our dog could be improved. She was accessible and personable and her expertise with dogs and care for her clients is very apparent. After implementing her advice, we immediately noticed huge progress with our dog. If you’re looking for someone who takes the time and care to understand your situation, is incredibly knowledgeable, provides personalized support and is an overall awesome person to work with, Val is your person.

We had a wonderful experience with Valerie during our one on one training sessions. Our rescue pup would constantly be reactive to other dogs outside and we were desperately looking for help. After 4 sessions, we’ve seen a great improvement and definitely enjoy going out on walks more now. Valerie was very knowledgeable in teaching us how to properly train our pup. I would definitely recommend her to anyone having troubles with their dogs and I’m planning to take more of her classes in the future for off leash training!

I first discovered Val at a Markham Dog Alliance event after I had just adopted my dog, Milo. I was a nervous first-time dog Mom and had no clue what I was doing or how to navigate a reactive dog. I was definitely a little nervous for our first class as I didn't know what to expect or how Milo would react. Despite feeling pretty awkward, Val quickly put me at ease with her friendly demeanor and down-to-earth energy. Having the option for Val to come to our house was also super helpful. Training where Milo felt most comfortable was very important for us, especially in the beginning when he was more nervous with new places and crowds.

Since our first training with Val, I can confidently say that Milo has made a ton of improvements. Leash pulling was always something we had trouble with, but Val introduced me to new tools and gave me all the proper guidance to help navigate this reoccurring issue for us.

Although Milo has made some substantial improvements, training is always on-going and we are so lucky to have Val help us with any problems we are facing. We couldn't be happier with Val and we highly recommend her for any of your dog training needs!

Val was so amazing to work with! My partner found her at the mall several years ago when Blue was still a pup and they were absolutely killing it at the mall! Blue being well behaved at a young age set my decision in stone to reach out when we really needed help with a life transition for our 3 year old bully - a new addition to our family. Our bully loves people but is kid reactive, we were very nervous for this change. In fact Val was one of the first people I told of my pregnancy🤭. We had a few lessons, reworked on basics and it made such a huge difference! Not to mention Val was so understanding and accommodating of my schedule, as I would forget or some days was just not feeling well. Fast forward to me being 3 months postpartum, my bully loves her new baby and working on the fundamentals like place, leave it and drop it are used every day when they are interacting! As I write the two are napping, the baby about 3 feet, on my left and my Hazey to the right of me, snuggled in her open door crate. They are both enjoying each other’s company even if it’s just napping in the same room. I am excited to keep working with Val as I know the situation will keep changing as the baby grows!
