He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology from Birmingham-Southern College and his M.D. from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical… Dr. Brian Mathews joined the Clearview Cancer Institute in August 2006. He received his undergraduate degree in chemistry and biology from Birmingham-Southern College and his M.D. from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He received sub-specialty training in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Mathews was involved in research for leukemia and lymphoma and malignant brain tumors at UAB. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American College of Physicians.
