great location and lovely rooms but the service is terrible. fell onto the bed and smelled vomit. threw off the offending pillows there was still a faint smell so I called the front desk. an hour later they delivered fresh sheets and pillowcases. I was required to change everything. we slept the evening without pillows. it was impossible for anyone cleaning that room to not smell that horribly stench. made me wonder what else was missing.....

It’s a lovely hotel with a lot of fun things to do with a really great location. The beds are comfy, the price is good.
Only downside of my birthday trip here:
We got here at 11pm and checked in from our long drive but our room only had 1 hand towel, so I called down and asked for towels and the person working brought these up and they have someone else’s makeup stains, mascara stains, random yellow-ness spots, and major holes…. We didn’t use them
Air dry and using an old shirt.

Next day I called again around 11 and asked for towels and they said they’d bring them… we waited an hour and no towels. Called again, said they put another request in… today was the birthday day we didn’t have time to spend waiting on towels. So we waited another 30 min and decided to just leave and hope they’d leave them.
Still no towels.
Came back from the celebrating and no towels and came back called at 6:30. It’s been about an hour and still no towels.

Not the worse experience ever in the world. But I definitely didn’t see myself spending me and my boyfriend’s birthday trip fighting with guest services to have towels not used by another guest.
Side note: I also asked a house keeper for a towel off her cleaning cart as she walked past our room and she told me no that they’re for other guest. So idk about that one.

But other than that it’s been a great hotel with terrible guest service

The room cost was a good deal, and it’s a good location. The hotel overall is pleasant, and clean, and the people polite. We showed up at 2 PM and they said the room was available, but it would cost $45 extra to check in unless we waited until 4 PM. We waited. On the 12th floor we were looking for our room, but the number was actually missing, so we ended up walking all the way down the hallway before deducting that this one mystery door was actually our room. The casino was OK, although signage for the restroom was sparse and it’s really out-of-the-way and hard to find unless you ask somebody. The cashiers cage is not labeled, but you just kind of figure out that’s what it is.

We ate at the Mastro's steakhouse. The service there was awesome, the live music was very good, and the food was incredible.

Our room was not really clean, in fact somebody’s old compression knee brace was under the sink on the lower shelf, the faucet was in really poor shape with the spout completely loose, the pop-up drain did not function at all, and to turn the cold water off, you have to turn the handle all the way against the backsplash. There was a piece of trash on the floor in the closet, and there was notable fuzz/dirt along the top of the padded headboard, which looked pretty gross. And was pretty obvious. TV is mounted crooked on the wall. Not the worst room ever, but more attention to detail and at least cleaning would certainly help.
no dresser in the room, which I thought was odd, not that I use the drawers, but having a larger surface to set stuff down on would’ve helped, since they only have a small, sligjtly cluttered table and a single chair. A second chair in the room would’ve also been really useful.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe.

I specifically reserved and paid for two rooms with two queen beds. After a long and exhausting drive, we arrived expecting the accommodations we had booked. However, upon check-in, we were given rooms with only a single bed. The hotel failed to inform us in advance that our reserved room type was unavailable.

What made the experience even worse was the poor customer service. When I raised the issue with the front desk, instead of offering a solution or trying to accommodate us, I was told that I could simply find another hotel. I found this response very disrespectful and unprofessional, especially considering we had a confirmed reservation and had already paid the required fees.

The lack of communication, failure to honor reservations, and dismissive attitude toward guests reflect poor management and customer service. Guests should not be charged for a specific room type and then be provided with something completely different upon arrival.

I expected much better from Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend this property based on how this situation was handled.

This was a horrible experience for us. We've booked two rooms with king size beds on memorial weekend. They charged my credit card and confirmed two separate reservations through my text. We drove all the way from West Sacramento my husband and I, daughter and son-in-law. We arrived and went to check in only to discover they only had one room available for us. They said they were all booked up and there was nothing they could do. They offered to bring a rollaway bed in for my daughter and son-in-law. I told him that he needed to get on the phone and find me another room in a hotel. He said he couldn't that, all the hotels were booked up. We went across the street and found a room for my daughter and her husband at Bally's. This fool was the most unhelpful jerk. There was a woman there as well, who was very unhelpful. We could have cared less. I will never come here ever again. They SUCKED!!! The guy behind the counter was rude before we even found out we didn't have a second room. Worst customer service ever. I told him that I expected to be compensated for this big nightmare. He offered to compensate the $20 parking. What a freaking joke.
