He earned his medical degree at Stony Brook University's Renaissance School of Medicine in Stony Brook, N.Y. He completed a combined residency in general and plastic surgery at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in orthopaedic hand surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Wang's research interests include nerve repair and regeneration, targeted muscle reinnervation, patient outcomes in hand surgery, quality improvement and resident education.
