Didnāt really enjoy my time to be honest. Unorganized and way too much down time. DO NOT RECOMMEND! I also got food poisoning twice. The food is tasty though. Just beware. My mental health was worse there than at home and I feel the exact same since I left.

I was a client at 'THI' and completed their 50-day program in January 2026. As my 3rd inpatient treatment, it helped me find my way back to recovery with compassion, kindness, a new awareness of how much trauma fuels my addiction, and so many more skills I can use to show myself the kind of love needed to maintain long-term sobriety. I can't say enough good things about the amazing staff, from counsellors, support staff, medical staff and chefs to the cleaning crew. The relatively small number of clients made it easy to connect with everyone. Thank you THI for giving me my life back!

Exactly one year ago today I rolled up to the gates of The Healing Institute on the side of that mountain - on Forbidden Plateauā¦.I was broken to the point where I was literally āknocking on heavens doorā - the depression and the substance abuse had robbed me of any semblance of the life I used to have - there was no joy, no laughs, no happiness - this was my last chance to reverse or switch tracks to get my life back or I donāt think I would be around much longerā¦ā¦I owe my life to this place - words can never be enough to express my gratitude and thanks to Aidan T. and the rest of the staff at the Healing Institute ā¦. from my councillor Liam, to Phil, Heather, Vicki (itās only a walk lol), Meg, Kelsey, Dr.Nick , and everyone else on staffā¦.And a HUGE thank you to all the amazing people just like me who were there for the same reason - a better lifeā¦.without all of you who I will forever call my friends - thank you for your acceptance and support. Friendships were made that can never be broken - we were one big family and still are . ā¤ļøšš¼
I wanted to give back and maybe even just help one person to make the decision to get helpā¦..hence why Iām writing thisā¦..I was going to initially write a review after 3 months but it just didnāt seem like the timing was right - 6 months passed and I kept getting healthier, happier - so I thought maybe now was a good time but I hesitated and a full year later to this day itās time - Iām living an amazing life that I had all but lost. Back to enjoying the simple things in life - I trusted āthe processā at THI and it has turned my life aroundā¦..I was hesitant at first to put myself into an unknown environment to get help but this was literally my last chance to turn things around - I had tried the clinical hospital setting 3 times with no improvements and in one stay made my depression even worse - there was no support system in place like you find at a place like THI nor any daily lectures, activities , and programs yet the cost to our health care system for 1 day in a hospital setting is 3X the cost of a day at THI - which makes no sense. In my opinion a whole lot of money being spent for no improvement in your health and quality of life. THI opens the proverbial āDoorā and itās up to you to walk thru that door and accept a new way of lifeā¦this place can change your life but you have to be willing to make that first step and keep stepping - donāt look back ā¦.
Thank - You from the bottom of my heart ā¤ļø

THI was a required reset in my life that I knew I needed but did so reluctantly. My primary focus for receiving treatment was for grief, depression, trauma and anxiety. So, you do not have to be there specifically for addiction. First off, I would like to mention, I was on a lot of medication for anxiety and sleep. Over the course of my stay, I reduced the number of meds significantly with the help of Nick and Dr. John and the incredible nursing staff (special mention to Kelsey & Meg!). The support staff is top notch there as well. If you needed something, needed to talk, recieve feedback they were right there (special mention to Phil & Sep!). My counselor was imperative to my recovery especially tackling my grief and was encouraging with all aspects in my recovery. The classes were informative and interactive. I loved the weekly art classes with Yorg (sp?), and rec with Vicki, and breathwork with Tyler. I encourage everyone to participate in all activities to recieve the full benefit of your time here. My private room was my haven, a place for my thoughts and feelings to process and because I don't like large groups, this facility was perfect. The food was delicious and nutritious. The other clients were great. Trust me, you will find your people here. The continued care meetings when I arrived home are so connecting and healing. So, what I am trying to say is, my reluntancy turned into trust. When I trusted, a transformation blossomed at this magical mountain. āØļø My heart and soul feel free-er. I am honored to be an alumni. I left June 9th and I miss it somehow. It was truly a place of "taking care of you". It was a place of safety, care, and transformation.
