He also leads the Outpatient Joint Reconstruction Program and the Advanced Arthroplasty Center at the hospital. Notably, he played a pivotal role in establishing Long Island's first outpatient joint replacement program at the Schwartz Ambulatory Surgery Center where he serves as the Associate Medical Director of the facility.Dr. Danoff graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in biomedical engineering and then earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Columbia University Medical Center and further specialized in adult reconstructive surgery at the prestigious Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.As a committed researcher and educator, Dr. Danoff has contributed significantly to orthopedic literature. A serial inventor, he holds a US patent for a novel orthopedic hip implant with 4 additional patents pending. He is the Director of Arthroplasty Research at the Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute. Dr. Danoff has a passion for orthopedic research having published over 100 scientific articles, book chapters, editorials, and surgical instructional videos and he has edited a textbook on the diagnosis and management of periprosthetic joint infections. He has a research interest in outpatient joint replacement, rapid recovery protocols and multimodal pain regimens to decrease postoperative pain.His contributions to orthopedic surgery have been recognized through various awards, including the Frank E. Stinchfield, M.D. Award for Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery for his impactful research.
