I hired Checker Movers to move my three bedroom townhouse (1300sq ft) to a single family detached home (1800 sq ft). Overall, they were late to arrive; worked very slowly; and when I discussed the amount of the hours the job required, the owner personally threatened to take me to court.
(1). The movers were an hour late, and never called to advise me of the delay. I had to call their office to inquire.
(2). The movers were very polite, however, they didn't work too fast. It took them (3 men) four hours to load the truck, and another 2.5 hours to unload it, and that's taking into consideration I helped the men unload the truck. I was so fed up! They started at 10am, and they finished around 5:30pm. I'd like to know how many hours it would have taken to move a 4-bedroom home?!
(3). When I tried to discuss the number of hours it required to move a three bedroom townhouse, the owner said he doesn't negotiate, and said he enjoys standing before a judge every so often. Is he for real?
Conclusion: don't consider Checker Movers for your next move. Plain and simple.

We hired Checkers to move our 5-bedroom home in February 2013.
They were 2 hours late to come, and didn't provide the real reason for being late (truck breakdown) until 30 minutes before.
They were very polite and courteous when they did arrive. However, the truck they brought wasn't big enough, and they had to make two trips. They also badly scratched two pieces of solid wood bedroom furniture that they said they fixed by drawing with marker over the scratches.
