As Director of Sports Medicine at Peconic Bay Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, Dr. Olujimi is committed to helping patients relieve pain, restore function, and return to the activities that matter most to them.Dr. Olujimi performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee, with particular expertise in shoulder instability, rotator cuff disorders, ACL and meniscus injuries, cartilage restoration, and joint preservation. In addition to sports-related injuries, he treats clavicle, proximal humerus, and scapular fractures and performs primary shoulder replacement surgery for arthritis and other degenerative shoulder conditions. Whenever appropriate, he emphasizes nonoperative treatment, patient education, and shared decision-making so that every patient understands their treatment options and can make informed decisions about their care.Recognizing that successful outcomes extend beyond surgery, Dr. Olujimi has developed a comprehensive sports medicine program centered on coordinated, team-based care. He works closely with a dedicated athletic trainer and experienced physical therapists located within the Riverhead office and has cultivated strong collaborative relationships with rehabilitation providers throughout eastern Long Island. This integrated approach promotes seamless communication and continuity of care from the initial evaluation through rehabilitation and return to work, sports, and everyday activities.As a member of the Katz Institute for Women's Health, Dr. Olujimi is committed to providing specialized orthopedic care for women. His practice includes caring for young female athletes with sports injuries as well as women with rotator cuff disorders, shoulder fractures, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions. He believes every patient deserves an individualized treatment plan that reflects their goals, lifestyle, and desired level of activity.Dr. Olujimi earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Health Sciences Chicago Medical School. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University before pursuing fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Boston University Medical Center and Shoulder & Elbow Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.Dr. Olujimi is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS).
