I called 99 Street Action Muffler and explained what scope was required. The scope involved relacing an exhaust system from the exhaust manifold "T" to the tailpipe. I also requested a Thrush Glass Pack (or equivalent). Action Muffler said they would assembly a quote and call me back. About 20 minutes later they came back with $389 plus, GST. I questioned the quote to insure it included everything that was in scope. They confirmed the scope and their quote. They then stated that they could get the work completed the same day.
I had my son take the vehicle over to complete the installation. They told him that the estimate was $729.
Once I found this out, I contacted the manager and asked what has changed. He told me the original quote was for the muffler only and additional estimate was for the labour ... huh ??
Feels like a classic bait and switch. Get you in the door and then change the estimate due to miscommunication.
Anyone else experience this ??
