Today the area is home to people of many descents and… The Glengarry Sports Hall of Fame is an organization that was founded in 1978 to celebrate and preserve the achievements of Glengarry County's athletes. Loyalists and Scottish immigrants settled in Glengarry in the late eighteenth century. Today the area is home to people of many descents and boasts an impressive sporting heritage. Glengarry hosts one of the world's largest Highland Games and is home to several world class champions. The sports that our athletes play are as varied as the people themselves and many of our athletes have merited recognition in sporting activities such as, hockey, golf, equestrian sports, curling, lacrosse, target shooting, figure skating, boxing, boating, football, canoeing, skiing, power lifting, soccer, track & field, and taekwon-do.
