Took guitar lessons here a few years ago. Owner charged me $100 for books and, at the end of my six months when I asked for the books that I had paid for, he said I hadn't advanced enough to deserve any more books. He went on to say that some students get a good deal for the money and some don't.
Also, he was late opening the school a number of times which then cut into my lesson time.
During my lesson time, my teacher consistently complained about not being paid.
Will bad mouth this school until the end of time.

I have been going their for 11 years and i have improved so much over the years with my singing. Don't believe the bad reviews that you see about under age people working their and money issues, the are 100% not true. I think i would know after the past 11 years.

Obviously the new owner took over this place not long ago ( approx. 3) years, there's never a trip or anything but never doubt the chocolate thing someone mentioned below! I guarantee you 90% of money goes into his pocket but not the parents. If you are smart enough you can tell the 2 comments that's rated 5 stars are written by the owner LOL! Don't even bother hoping your kids to become a huge star in the future as he might have told you at the first place when you first stepped into this trap

I was a student at United Conservatory of Music a few years ago, and have no complains about the level of teaching, the instruments nor the owner. I remember looking forward to going for my lessons (singing and drums). The extra activities were awesome too... we traveled to music festivals around Alberta and even to Toronto once. It was so much fun traveling with friends and winning all the trophies :)

Don't really know what these people are talking about! I was a student there for 4 years. Had the time of my life playing drums, organ and bass guitar. I also had singing lessons and was part of a band. Mr. Wilcox is awesome and really cares about his students. I remember he used to organize chocolate drives to help raise funds for trips to music festivals, and make it easier on the parents.

Same as the other reviews, I would 've rated it 0 as the owner of this "music school" has terrible organization and students would highly have a chance to have different teachers within A MONTH! The website states how they have world class piano and thats a total bullshit! The pianos are legit crap. As many people have mentioned below, all the owner cares is money. He will convince you till death to get you get started with them by telling you that you are really talented and that you will get rides from him. If you register piano classes with him, he will ask you to join even singing lessons. Us parents don't even have a chance to talk to the teachers as we do not have their phone numbers and the teachers seem like they are not even qualified. Hope this message gets to more people .

Seriously, do not waste your time, money, and energy here. The owner is awful and only cares about money. They do not provide you with the best education and instruments. Out of all of the years I've been there, I have never had a good experience. Don't believe their bullshit. Save your money.

Don't waste your money here. I used to work there and can tell you that there are NO qualified teachers, everything is about money and you will be taken for a ride! Teachers' checks bounce regularly but the owner and his mother enjoy a very lavish lifestyle. For that matter, teachers make FAR BELOW going rate, but school charges above going rate! As for the qualifications of the staff, most of the teachers are under the age of 16! Really... does that make sense? There are also many allegations of clientelle being chosen according to their ethnic background (if you don't speak english then you will be conned into getting crappy education for your kids!). Teachers are not allowed to talk amongst themselves (for fear of a mutiny) and teachers are certainly not allowed to interact with the parents of the students! Everybody works in fear and are guilted into not quitting. Spend your money wisely and find a school that has qualified staff.

Terrible experience. Crazy teacher turnover. Politics. Learn more about owner's life than music. My teacher is not legally allowed to do anything because of age. I think I have gray hairs now!
