He then completed a three-year Periodontics residency program at the University of Washington, earning a certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery as well as a Masters of Science in Dentistry (MSD). During his residency, Dr. Shaya obtained diverse experience in all aspects of periodontal procedures including mucogingival, regenerative, corrective, and implant procedures.
