She values explaining gastrointestinal diseases, treatments and procedures in a way that is easy for her patients to understand, with the goal of making them feel as comfortable as possible. She enjoys interacting with and educating the community in any capacity to help raise awareness and understanding of gastrointestinal illnesses and to encourage preventative care such as screening colonoscopy. Dr. Rya Kaplan did all her medical training at MUSC, including GI Fellowship, and has practiced gastroenterology in various areas of the Lowcountry.
