My family and I went to Vanderwees today for some shopping and lunch. We love the store, the variety, and the beautiful
atmosphere always makes a pleasant shopping experience. When we went for lunch at the Tulips Café, I wanted to order a hot dog for my daughter, they are out, so I asked if they make her a grill cheese, the girl who took the order, said no we don't have them. I then said but you have a tomato, bacon and cheese melt, can just put cheese on hers. She had to ask, they did accommodate, but was going to charge me 9 something. Another women came and explained that that sandwich is on Ciabatta bread, I asked for white bread, thankfully she said yes, or my daughter would not have any choices. They do offer 2 more choices for kids, but unfortunately my daughter doesn't like it. My sister wanted to order salad, they were out, then to order a soup, they had to check to make sure there was enough for a bowl. Just enough. I then asked for ice, no ice machine. It might seem I have a lot of complaints, but you have menu board, erase it on the menu, or have enough product to serve your costumers. I don't normally complain about these things, and yes it is around Christmas, but I was there a month ago and again the same type of business at the Tulips Café. Overall the food is very delicious, of what they had left.
