The building is so old and so noisy with no isolation. I didn't realize how bad it was until after I moved in. While I've lived in other apartments with varying levels of soundproofing, this apartment is far worse than anything I thought possible. All the noises are amplified and reverberated; upstairs footsteps sound like elephants stomping; and I generally feel like I'm sitting in the same room with my neighbors. The major problem of this building is the temperature. There is no insulation, so even though the heater goes on during all day at 24 degrees Celsius, the apartment is FREEZING! I'm embarrassed to invite any friends over because everyone would be so uncomfortable. Heating bills in the winter that are hundreds of dollars. Many tenants have had this problem. The building agrees that the bills are unrealistically high but refuses to do anything to help the tenants.
