I would like to sincerely thank Lisa Rizo, LPN, for her exemplary service to the residents of the Dickinsfield Long-Term Care, Unit 2D.
My husband is one of the residents since April 2014. For three and a half years, during my daily visits, I’m having a very good opportunity to admire Lisa’s work ethics, her sense of responsibility, and her unique way of interaction with the people who are under her professional care.
She administers prescribed medications with a great precision, always right on time, even when she is not aware of the relatives’ presence. If it happens that a resident is not at his usual place, Lisa goes through the trouble to find him, even if he attends social event in the auditorium.
The residents love Lisa’s gentle touch, warm smile, kind words, and her patience. This kind of attitude is priceless in the situation when people are confined to wheelchairs and feel sad and lonely.
On top of English, her first language, Lisa is fluent in Italian and Spanish which allows her to communicate with some residents in their native tongues. She also is ambitious enough to learn at least some expressions in other languages.
This year marks the twentieth anniversary of Lisa’s employment at the Dickinsfield Long-Term Care.
I strongly feel that Lisa Rizo deserves special recognition as the outstanding nurse. The other families of residents on 2D share this opinion.

My grandmother just moved into Dickinsfield. They are grossly understaffed and under resourced. The staff at night will not get residents up and tell them to go the bathroom in their pants and then they are left soiled and not cleaned up till morning. They have left them unattended on the toilet for 30 minutes or more with open doors to the bathroom for everyone to see and then don't wipe them properly and put them back in their chairs or beds with feces still on them.

No dignity for the patients.

my mom just moved to Dickinsfied in Main AB few months.I find everything (activities) is good here, but I need to share that one nurse, she feeding patients (super time)super terible.(Thank God my mom can eat herself). She's holding a cup of juice or milk, couting up to 10 with the cup almost up side down. Sooner or later she will choke them. Also I dont see she talks with patients at all.Is that how she was trained? Beside that the care manager,oh my God, we have headache with her high heel every she comes in (too loud) and dress up like model or she going to a party. That is very good but it doesnt look good in nursing home or hospital. I hope they will do something abuot that.Other than that everything is good here.
