Dr. DerHagopian draws upon his four decades of breast surgical oncology experience to assess a patient’s breast cancer risk and offer education and risk reduction strategies. He provides pre- and post-biopsy consultationsas well as personalized breast imaging surveillance plans. He also helps patients with a history of breast cancer manage their cancer survivorship care plan. Dr. DerHagopian has a rich history with Baptist Health, serving for a combined 10 years as director of Baptist Health Breast Center and director of the Breast Center at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. Prior to those roles, he was in private practice for 26 years as a breast surgical oncologist. Dr. DerHagopian has extensive teaching experience, serving 20 years as associate professor of surgery in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. As a longtime breast cancer researcher, Dr. DerHagopian has collaborated with nationally renowned oncologists and surgeons in cancer treatment research. He has published his findings in medicaljournals, presented at national conferences and seminars and received numerous honors for his professional contributions.
