I hired Jade to do tax planning and income analyses for a possible move and investment property purchase in Paris. After being told that the person I had met with in Bethesda was no longer there, I did a zoom meeting with their representative in LA. We went through my goals and questions and I sent him my dossier, I received no follow-up despite my real estate deal being time sensitive. After a few weeks I emailed and asked if I would receive any return and mentioned that if they felt that we were not the right fit, that I understand but to let me know and possibly connect me with another firm that might be. I never heard back. In the interim, I lost the deal because my investor backed out based on lack of understanding of his tax exposure. I have no issue if we were not a fit, but the courtesy of a response would have been appropriate, especially considering I had legitimate planning to do and had paid them a previous invoice.
