I've been buying my glasses at Jack Winter for a LONG time, getting five star service from Jim and his son. I suspect some brand-name / chain competitor tried to get him out of business and eliminate competition. Jim is the kind of guy who cares more about servicing his clients properly than making a quick buck off someone's back.
We miss you guys !

I made the mistake of getting glasses from a big box and could not see properly. I went to see Jim at Jack Winter Opticians where he checked the glasses and discovered that the lenses had not been done properly. I have bi-focals and the "long distance" was not placed properly in the lens. Finaly, I can see properly and now understand the importance of 40 years of experience in making glasses. He was professional, friendly and fast. I was surprised that his prices are actualy less than the big box stores.
He also has a great selection of vintage glasses for those looking for something a little special and different.
I also found out that if you have drinking glasses that are chipped, he's the man who can fix that too.
